Assessment

---

There are four areas of study in Computing Science.  

• ​Web Design & Development
• Software Design & Development
• Database Design & Development
• Computer Systems

National 4
​Pupils can achieve an N4 qualification by passing unit assessments and successfully completing the Added Value Unit.
​
National 5
To achieve a pass at N5 pupils are required to complete a practical assignment which contibutes 30% towards their overall mark.   Pupils are also required to sit a written exam, this contributes 70% towards their overall mark.

Books

​There are currently three textbooks available to help you study.  You don't have to buy any of these but if you prefer to study from a book then you might want to buy one of them.  We have also have a few copies of each in school that can be borrowed if required.
