What is Modern Studies?

Modern studies is a subject unique to the Scottish secondary school curriculum. The focus of Modern Studies is to develop learners' knowledge and understanding of political and social issues with a local, Scottish, United Kingdom and International focus.

Why is Modern Studies important?

Modern Studies is important because it will help learners understand the social, political and economic life they live in. As a subject it will enable learners to detect bias, evaluate sources and use evidence to support their opinions.
