S1 BGE Course
In S1, pupils follow a Broad General Education (BGE) course designed to give them a strong foundation in Mathematics at secondary school level. The course covers a wide range of topics, allowing pupils to experience different areas of Maths and develop key skills.

​Classes work across Curriculum for Excellence Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, ensuring appropriate challenge and progression for all learners.

At the end of each block, pupils will have the opportunity to consolidate their learning through an assessment. They will be encouraged to reflect on their progress, identify areas for improvement, and take responsibility for preparing for these assessments. We strongly encourage parents and carers to support learners with this process.

Revision booklets and pre-assessment materials are available at the end of each block (see below). Please note that these resources are password-protected; pupils will receive the password from their Maths teacher in class.

• Multiply and Divide by 10,100, and 1000
• Multiply and Divide by Multiples of 10,100 and 1000

• Reading Scales
• Solving Problems in Context

Decimals:
